On the morning of June 26, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Han Jun met with Ecuadorian Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Flores in Beijing. Han Jun briefly reviewed the achievements of agricultural cooperation between China and Eritrea, and put forward three suggestions for the next step. First, strengthen communication and coordination under the framework of the China-Eritrea Joint Committee on Agriculture, convene the second meeting of the Joint Committee as soon as possible, and sign a memorandum of understanding on agricultural cooperation between the two ministries at an opportune time. Second, to promote bilateral agricultural trade, Ecuador is welcome to participate in the first China Import Expo held in Shanghai in November this year and the 16th China International Agricultural Products Fair held in Changsha. Third, to carry out agricultural human resources training, welcome Eritrean agricultural managers and technical specialist to attend agricultural policy and technology training courses in China, and encourage scientific research institutions of the two countries to jointly train agricultural master's and doctoral students. Han Jun also exchanged views with Flores on Sino-Eritrean offshore fisheries and Chinese agricultural enterprises' investment in rice breeding in Eritrea.

Flores said that he fully agreed with China that Eritrea attaches great importance to agricultural cooperation between Eritrea and China and will actively carry out practical work to enhance the comprehensive development of agricultural cooperation between Eritrea and China.
